The process
If you have a past-due account: the four steps
-
1
We reach out.
You’ll get a letter by mail or email. It lists the account, the amount, where the account came from, your rights, and how to reach us.
-
2
Verify your letter.
Every letter we send carries a reference number. Match it when you call or log in, and use the phone number printed on this site rather than one you can’t verify. If a message claiming to be from Beacon looks off, call us and ask.
-
3
Choose your option.
Pay in full, set up a plan over time, or call and talk it through with a real person. If you don’t recognize the account, dispute it and we’ll investigate.
-
4
Resolve and move forward.
Make payments by phone or mail today, and online when our payment portal opens. When the account is resolved, you get written confirmation for your records, and you’re done with us. That’s the point.

Steps two through four, online.
The same three moments you can do on the phone today: find the account, pick a way to resolve it, get confirmation in writing.

Written confirmation, every time.
Common questions
The things people ask first.
Why
are you contacting me?
A lender or creditor placed a past-due account in your name with us. If Beacon is a new name to you, that’s expected: we come in only after an account is past due. Your letter lists the account, the amount, and the original creditor. Call us with the reference number and we’ll walk you through it.
Who
is Beacon?
Beacon Account Services is a licensed collections company. Lenders and creditors entrust past-due accounts to us, and we help the people behind those accounts resolve them. Our license numbers are in the footer of every page, and everything else worth knowing is on the About page.
What
if I can’t pay anything right now?
Call anyway. Plans can start small and flex when your situation changes, and the conversation costs nothing. If nothing works right now, telling us that is still useful. We’d rather wait than push you into a plan that fails.
What
if the account isn’t mine?
Dispute it. Call or write and tell us what looks wrong. We respond in writing with what we found.
How
do I know a letter or email is really from Beacon?
[Drafted for review] Match the reference number on your letter when you call or log in. Use the phone number and email printed on this site rather than contact details you can’t verify. We will never ask for your full Social Security number, card number, or bank login by email or text. If a message looks off, call us and ask.
Can I
choose how you contact me?
Yes. Phone, email, text, or mail: tell us what you prefer, and what to stop, including removing a phone number. Email preferences@beaconacctservices.com or tell any agent on a call.
Will
this affect my credit?
[Drafted for review] Credit reporting depends on the account and the original creditor, and we won’t promise a score outcome. Ask us about your specific account and we’ll tell you plainly what we report, if anything.
Is my
information secure?
Your information is handled by trained staff and shared only as the law allows. View our privacy policy to see the specifics.
What
happens if I ignore this?
[Drafted for review] The account doesn’t go away, and the creditor may eventually place it with another company. Nobody benefits from that. Even if you can’t pay right now, a short call keeps your options open.
Your rights
You have rights.
We keep them easy to find.
Federal and state law protects you when an account is in collections. We spell those protections out in plain language, one click away, always.
